COMPETITION LAW
Competition Law protects free competition in Brazil, promoting and strengthening competition in the markets. Its objective is to, aim for the welfare of society, free initiative and consumers. In this context, it is essential to have preventive and repressive intervention by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE, the authority responsible for the defense of competition in Brazil, which analyzes companies' operations and also punishes anti-competitive conducts.
With a highly qualified team, including leadership positions experience in the Brazilian antitrust authority, the competition department of Almeida Prado & Hoffmann Lawyers is able advice clients from all sectors, domestic and foreign, in merger transactions and investigations/administrative proceedings of anticompetitive conduct before CADE. The performance of our team also include the development of strategic actions and anticipation of responses in terms of competitive defense, aiming to mitigate risks and deliver the best solutions for our clients.
